Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Mental Health Tech Recovery Specialist at our facility you will be joining a team that hasa passion for creating positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. You will have the opportunity to assist peers in articulating their goals for recovery, learning and practicing new skills, helping them monitor their progress, and supporting them in their treatment.
In this role you will:
- Provide guidance on the recovery process and recovery education.
- Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.
- Set and maintain appropriate boundaries with patients and their families.
- Develop and present psycho-educational groups and activitiese according to program schedule and demonstrate constructive use of redirection activities.
- Demonstrate expertise in substance use treatment health promotion and maintenance of high quality comprehensive patient care.
- Demonstrate expertise in the performance of tasks necessary to maintain a therapeutic milieu and optimum patient care.
- Escort patients to and from scheudled activities in a safe and professional manner.
- Assist with the cleanliness of the unit and maintain support services which are vital to effective program operation.
Qualifications:
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- Certification in Non Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) within 30 days of hire.
- C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification preferred but not required.
- Personal experience of substance abuse and recovery preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ recovery experience preferred.
